Spirited Return of AA’s Lohei Dinner

AA Singapore’s president, Mr Bernard Tay, paid tribute to its members and unveiled exciting new initiatives for the year ahead.
Automobile Association of Singapore’s (AAS) Broadway Plaza’s distinctively yellow premises were overwhelmed by a sea of auspicious red decorations, put up to warmly welcome the return of AA Singapore’s Lohei dinner.

Held on the evening of 27 February 2026, the much-anticipated event boasted a packed programme, including a sumptuous spread of delectable dishes, exciting lucky draws, and the joyous reunion of more than 140 AA members, all celebrating Chinese New Year with AAS. AA Members were warmly welcomed by AAS staff and invited to take part in a Ma Dao Gong Cheng (马到功成, meaning “swift success” in Mandarin) festive activity. As part of the experience, Members selected numbered tokens from an auspicious draw box, each accompanied by prosperity-themed pendants symbolising good fortune and well wishes for the year ahead.Before dinner was served, Mr Tay took the stage and shared what they can look forward to in the Year of the Horse.

Loyalty has its Rewards

In his speech, Mr Tay thanked AA members for their unwavering support. He also mentioned that the reinstatement of this tradition was especially meaningful. “You are the reason our community remains vibrant,” Mr Tay affirmed.

To thank AA members for their loyalty, he unveiled an exclusive one-for-one sign-up and renewal offer for both Ordinary ($115 for new sign-ups; $82 for renewals) and Social ($33 for both new sign-ups and renewals) Memberships, available only to the evening’s attendees.

The Road Ahead

Mr Tay then spoke on several initiatives, such as:

RoadPlus+, AAS’s latest overseas car rental excess insurance solution. Designed to shield members from high out-of-pocket charges associated with basic rental insurance, it provides comprehensive coverage from vehicle damage to extreme weather incidents (More information available here). “Just as the horse charges confidently into new horizons,” Mr Tay declared, “RoadPlus+ empowers you to take to the roads abroad with complete peace of mind.”

Several of Autoventure Fly-Drive trips were also announced for 2026.

  • 13-Day Heritage Journey through China, traversing the modern highways and historical routes of Guangdong, Fujian and Jiangxi

As the event’s MC led the lohei ritual, the exuberant guests heartily cheered “收到 shou dao!” (meaning ‘receive’ in Mandarin) after each auspicious phrase. The other dishes were presented as a buffet so guests could pick and choose what they liked at their convenience. Before the evening ended, 15 AA members walked away with fabulous lucky draw prizes, from brands such as BLACK+DECKER and OTO.
