Some AA Singapore Members gathered to make delicious snowskin mooncakes as part of the motoring organisation’s effort to engage Members and provide them a creative outlet amid the COVID-19 mitigation measures.
On 5 September 2020, AA Singapore organised a mooncake-making workshop for AA Members. The workshop featured engaging activities for both adults and families. Participants learned more about the various ingredients needed to make mooncakes, as well as the recipe and steps on how to produce their very own creations!
Prior to the start of the session, the tables in the room had been set up with well-spaced tables draped with tablecloths in cheerful gingham patterns of different colours. The numerous ingredients required for the day — provided by Tasty Funz — had been divided into individual portions and lined up on a separate table for easy collection. Participants were required to observe Safe Management Measures, such as social distancing, wearing of masks throughout the session, and the washing and sanitising of hands before and after the session.
By the time the session began at 2pm, 10 participants — including two children — had signed in. The participants were excited as it was their first attempt at making a snowskin mooncake with either yam or red bean fillings. The children, too, had fun mixing colours into the dough and shaping them using a mooncake mould with cartoon characters, such as Hello Kitty.
At the end of the session, participants happily took home their culinary creations to share with their loved ones — just in time for the Mid-Autumn Festival!
