AA Singapore remains committed to fostering positive social impacts, supporting education and local communities for the development and well-being of future generations. AA Singapore aims to cultivate growth, learning, and academic success in an empowering environment for academics and institutions.

In addition to its educational initiatives, AA Singapore actively engages in various community projects aimed at enriching the lives of Singaporeans. These efforts include partnerships with local schools and institutions to promote holistic development and academic excellence among students. By supporting programmes like the book prize awards and meal vouchers for the lower income families at ITE College West, AA Singapore is dedicated to nurturing talent and recognising outstanding achievements in vocational education. These initiatives not only encourage academic success but also alleviate financial burdens, ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to thrive and contribute positively to society.

AA Singapore recently presented book prizes to outstanding graduates of ITE College West’s Nitec Automotive Technology and Higher Nitec in Automotive Engineering courses. The prizes, which included Outstanding Graduate Awards, Top Graduate Award, and Book Prizes, were presented by Mr Lee Wai Mun, Chief Executive Officer of Automobile Association of Singapore, at the graduation ceremony held at the School of Engineering. The awards recognised the achievements of those who had done well in their studies while making significant contributions to their college and society-at-large.

The Nitec in Automotive Technology course covers topics such as maintaining, servicing, repairing, and troubleshooting various systems in passenger and commercial vehicles, repairing electrical and electronic systems, and servicing air-conditioning systems, among other areas. Graduates will have the practical skills and knowledge needed to work in automotive maintenance and repair. The Higher Nitec in Automotive Engineering course equips graduates with the skills to service, inspect, repair, and diagnose systems for petrol, diesel, and high voltage vehicles. Graduates will be equipped with the skills needed to identify and troubleshoot issues across these critical areas, ensuring efficient and effective vehicle maintenance and repair.

AA Singapore has been sponsoring the awards since 2017. In addition to the book prizes, AA Singapore contributed to the ITE College West’s meal token scheme, where students from financially challenged families are issued with meal tokens that can be redeemed for value meals at the college’s cafeterias.

Graduation Ceremony Highlights

The graduation ceremony was not just a formal event but a celebration of the students’ hard work and achievements. To mark this special occasion, students set up performances that added a festive atmosphere to the ceremony, allowing them to showcase their diverse talents and creativity.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt speech by the valedictorian, who reflected on the journey of the graduates, the challenges they overcame, and the bright futures that lie ahead. The valedictorian’s speech was a fitting end to the celebration, inspiring fellow graduates to strive for excellence in their future endeavours.

AA Singapore is committed to supporting the emerging generation of workforce with much-needed educational resources, helping to bridge the funding gaps and make higher education more accessible and affordable.
