Eating Sustainably

3 min read
Green Common is a one-stop, plant-based eatery and retail outlet that seeks to empower people to dine healthily and sustainably.

Eating out sustainably has become more accessible to Singaporeans these days, with restaurants making available plant-based options. One eatery that has a menu full of plant-based dishes is Green Common. Started by the Green Monday Group, Green Common offers a range of crowd-pleasing, animal-free dishes that use meat alternatives from Green Monday’s own meat analogue, OmniMeat, OmniSeafood and the UK’s Minor Figures Oat Milk.

Omni Spicy Tuna Pizza

On the menu are Western favourites such as Omni Spicy Tuna Pizza, which comes with an indulgent spread of fried crabless crab cake and spicy tuna resting on a base of tomato sauce and topped with vegan mozzarella cheese; and the Omni Burger Black, starring a juicy Omni Patty served between toasted beetroot buns and topped with freshly sliced cabbage and sautéed mushrooms drizzled with black pepper sauce.

Omni Assam Golden Fillet with Buah Keluak Rice

Diners can also enjoy hawker staples like Omni Assam Golden Fillet with Buah Keluak Rice, made with Omni Golden Fillet accompanied by homemade assam sauce, and Omni Seafood Laksa, cooked with Omni Classic Fillet, Omni Crab Cake, vermicelli noodles, tofu and tau pok. Prefer trendy fare? Tuck into Omni Golden Fish and Chips, featuring the award-winning Omni Golden Fillet, which has the flavour and flakiness of fish in a golden-crusted batter.

Green Common @ VivoCity

The 3,000 square-foot open-plan space at VivoCity also houses a dedicated retail area that offers meat-free cooking staples as well as the new-to-market OmniEat range of ready-made, vegan-friendly, preservative-free, and MSG-free frozen-ready meals. Designed for guilt-free convenience, the range is made with OmniMeat, and features Asian delights such as OmniEat Truffle Gyoza, OmniEat Siu Mai and OmniEat Crystal Dumpling. The products are prepared using ultra-low temperature flash-freezing technology to retain natural flavours and textures while minimising nutrient loss.

Omni Chili Crab Cake

The store also stocks an OmniSeafood line, featuring take-home items like Omni Classic Fillet, OmniTuna and Omni Golden Fillet. AA Members can kick-start their sustainable eating journey by bringing these home, together with Omni Luncheon Fries and Omni Crab Cakes.
